On 1 December, I started at the Department as Assistant Professor in English linguistics and language acquisition. I defended my PhD at the Department on May 11. My PhD was dedicated to investigating what difficulties Danish university students face in their acquisition of written English and theoretical grammar. I primarily used my own students at the Department as informants in my project. I look forward to continuing my research within the abovementioned and other fields, and to using my research results to the benefit of my future students.
I received my Master’s degree in General and applied linguistics from Aarhus University. I have worked at the Department since 2004 in various part-time positions, teaching English grammar and writing English. I also have extensive teaching experience from Aarhus University, the University of Southern Denmark, the Open University (Folkeuniversitetet) and various private language schools. In 2000, I developed the Danish grammar checker module for Microsoft Office.
