Format of the hybrid conference

How to attend sessions and what to expect

Platform: How will my virtual participation be like?

  • Physical sessions will have all speakers gathered at the conference venue with the audience and the chair. Participants gathered at Ilisimatusarfik may engage live via zoom. Virtual audience can ask questions via the moderated zoom chat.

  • Hybrid sessions will have some speakers physically gathered at the conference venue with the audience and the chair, but one or more speakers will participate via zoom link. Virtual audience can ask questions via the moderated zoom chat.

  • Virtual sessions will only take place as a zoom webinar. The chair will decide how the audience may engage, according to the session format (see below)

NB: Sessions may change platform until the very last minute due to corona restrictions - but links included in the program will remain the same.

Format: What to expect from each session?

  • Keynote lectures allow a comprehensive presentation of an argument/project.
  • Roundtable sessions will be initiated by brief interventions by invited speakers. Then the chair will invite discussion with the audience.
  • Paper presentation sessions will first allow speakers to present each their argument/project. In some panels, a dedicated discussant will then comment. Finally, the chair will invite discussion with the audience.
  • Workshop sessions will discuss publications-in-progress. Participation only upon invitation. There will be no initial presentations as such; all participants are expected to have read pre-submitted written papers before the session.
