Call for Panels, Papers and Posters

Submission Guidelines

The following paper categories are welcome:


Accepted panels are allotted 90-minutes-sessions and typically feature 3-5 panelists with time left for discussion. A panel proposal requires an abstract of no more than 500 words (excluding bibliography) describing the topic and scope of the panel and abstracts of no more than 300 words for each individual paper (excluding bibliography), names and affiliation of the authors, name of discussant (optional). Note that only one author should submit each panel proposal. Our Board of Reviewers will be reviewing the abstract and decide to reject or accept your proposal. The panel proposal should be uploaded as file by clicking on ‘panel description’ on the EasyChair. web portal.

Individual papers

Individual papers will be allocated 20 minutes for presentation + 10 minutes for questions and discussions. An individual paper submission must contain an abstract of no more than 500 words (excluding bibliography). Our Board of Reviewers will be reviewing the abstract and decide to reject or accept your proposal.


Our poster session is an ideal opportunity for Ph.D. students and other early career researchers to show their work in progress. The poster session will be scheduled at a separate time slot during the conference allowing presenters to present and engage in discussion about their posters. The poster session will take place at the spacious and centrally placed open canteen facing the waterfront. Posters will therefore also serve as visuals for people passing by and allow for increased exposure. To register for the poster session, note the title of the poster/your project, affiliated institution and an abstract of no more than 500 words (excluding bibliography) on your topic and areas you would like to receive feedback on. Note that the poster session is based upon registration and will not be reviewed by the Board of Reviewers.

With your permission, we would like to display the panel and individual abstracts as well as pictures of the individual posters at the NEHC2022 website following the conference. This allow people to academically reminisce and refer back to points they heard. Please write Nanna at if you do not wish to have your abstract or poster displayed on the NEHC2022.

You will be notified of the status of your abstract by February 1, 2022.

Login to the conference submission page:
a) Existing users of EasyChair may login to EasyChair using their existing “user name” and
    “password” (e.g., if you have previously submitted an abstract for another conference using
b) New users must sign up for an EasyChair account on the EasyChair website. 
When logged into EasyChair click on the ”New Submission” button in the top left corner.
Please fill in the mandatory information under ”Authors” for all authors of the paper/panel (please have the following information ready before you start the submission: name, email address, institutional affiliation of all authors).
Insert the title of your proposal.
Special guidelines for thematic panel proposals, abstracts and poster respectively:

• In the online submission form, please write the name, email address and affiliation of all authors.
  Please make sure to tick the “corresponding author” box for at least one author (only corresponding
  authors will receive notifications from the system). 
• Please select the speaker. In case of more than one presenter, please write the additional name(s) in
  the “Comments” box. 
• Paste your proposal text into the online form (max. 300 words including references for abstract and 500 for panel)
Add ”Keywords” (minimum three keywords on separate lines). 
Click on the ”Submit” button
(you can revise the abstract and author information etc. until the submission deadline).


Please note that acceptance notifications will be sent via EasyChair. Unfortunately, emails from EasyChair are often caught in spam filters so please make sure that you check your spam filter and change your email settings so that EasyChair emails are never blocked.
