The Centre for Applied Philosophy (CAF) gathers, organises and develops research in Applied Philosophy throughout Aalborg University. CAF is therefore relevant to researchers and instructors at all four faculties.

"Applied Philosophy" denotes practically oriented philosophy that focuses on problems in the various fields of practice in society (e.g. healthcare, ecology, education and technology).

Applied Philosophy is practical in the sense that philosophical activity should be seen in close relation to problems in the fields of practice and the desire to contribute to the resolution of these problems. Applied Philosophy seeks to contribute to the resolution of problems in society by employing analytical precision and critical perspective.
