As of January 1st 2015, I have been appointed associate professor in tourism and cultural studies. My interests are very much related to understandings, representations and practices of culture in a tourism context, and ways in which these play a role to tourists, tourism businesses and –administrators, as well as local residents at tourist destinations around the world. This is a central point of attention in my research and teaching, and at the moment, I am particularly interested in the role of culture in Arctic tourism, and Chinese tourists as a new focus for tourism in Europe, and I hope to continue to expand my work in these areas and hopefully many more in the years to come. I very much look forward to continue to work closely with colleagues, students and associated partners of CGS, and I look forward to see where new projects might take me.
